Curriculum

Year One

• Orthopedic Surgery – 6 four-week blocks
• Emergency Medicine – 1 four-week block
• Musculoskeletal Imaging – 1 four-week block
• Surgical Intensive Care Unit – 1 four-week block on days & 1 four-week block on nights
• Vascular Surgery - 1 four-week block
• Spine  – 1 six-week block
• Anesthesiology – 2 weeks
• Rheumatology – 2 weeks

Year Two

• Nine months of rotations with assigned Orthopedic Attendings at Genesys
• Three months of Ortho Nights

Year Three

• Five months of rotations with assigned Orthopedic Attendings at Genesys
• Four months Pediatric Exposure at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA
• Two months of electives
• One month Ortho Nights

Year Four

• One month elective
• Eleven months of rotations with assigned Orthopedic Attendings at Genesys

Year Five

• One month Spine Surgery at Genesys
• Eleven months of rotations with assigned Orthopedic Attendings at Genesys

(The last 6 months of year five is spent at Genesys per program guidelines.)
