RN to EMT Program

This 12 week program consists of classroom, lab and clinical experience divided between emergency department and local ambulance services. These clinical experiences allow the student to apply skills learned in the classroom and gain necessary patient care experience prior to entering the job market. This course meets or exceeds the national requirements for EMT education and successful course completion allows the student to challenge the NREMT examination at the EMT level. This course will apply the RN's previous clinical knowledge and skills and integrate them into a pre-hospital environment. For those wishing to continue on to the RN to Paramedic program, EMT is a prerequisite.

RN to EMT candidates must have a valid RN license and submit verification of 6 months of critical care or ED experience.

All EMS Programs are held at the Genesys Materials Management Building in the EMS Education Classrooms.
